This Three-Year-Old Is A Villainess - Chapter 3

Oh, right.
There’s one thing I haven’t mentioned yet.
When I was still living as Yoo Hyemin, I used to work as an aide at the Parliament.
Of all things, I had a trashy boss, and there were only three things I learned.
- The method of—if the situation between you and the people you’re in the same faction with is getting shaky—becoming like a migratory bird and performing a tightrope performance straight towards the other faction without looking back.
- The immaculate technique of catching the end of the opponent’s words and turning it over to make them out to be the bastard.
- The raccoon-like habit of pretending to be nice to the weak, pretending to be even nicer to the strong, but becoming the most pitiful person in the whole world.
I looked back at the skills I learned from my garbage boss without remorse.
‘This is K-politics, dear children.’
Once upon a time, after I had faced a complete failure in returning to Earth,
I made up my mind.
‘Since it’s already like this, I’ll survive somehow.’
***
The next day, at noon.
I arrived at the main mansion with the branch families’ children.
The children exclaimed as soon as they entered the fortress.
A sculpture of the eleven gods occupying a huge wall.
A large and beautiful stone pillar.
A luxurious coat of arms adorned with gold.
It was an overwhelming grandeur.
‘Although it’s a creepy kind of grandeur.’
I glanced at the strange monsters wearing chains in front of the gate.
It’s really scary because their eyes were big.
‘This is so uncomfortable.’
Her child-like feelings came up suddenly.
Even used to be a complete child often.
‘At the end of the day, I think I have a penalty because I’m not the main character.’
Even a child my age was afraid of monsters. I walked quickly to pass the monster quickly.
I ran after the children in a hurry.
The three-year-old body did not develop muscles, so no matter how hard I ran, it was hard to follow my older cousins.
‘Aigoo, I’m dying.’
I barely followed the children into the examination room.
A neighborhood child, who arrived first, muttered with an exhausted face.
“What the, we’re the only ones…”
There’s no one from the main family inside the room that the children were so excited about.
‘Of course, duh.’
The main family were people who were ‘called’.
While the branch family were people who were ‘ordered to come’.
The hierarchy was clear, and there’s nothing good about having the main family and the branch family taking the test together.
Because they’re scared and won’t be able to show their skills properly.
‘No matter how good the marks that the members of the main family get, people won’t believe it.’
So, even if I’m a direct descendant, taking a test with my branch families’ children means that my situation was the worst.
If my father here dies next year…
The thought gave me the creeps.
‘I have to get good grades on the test no matter what.’
Even if I didn’t have the powers that my grandfather wants, I have to show that I’m a helpful kid to my family.
The older children looked bright, as if they got lucky today. The younger ones, on the other hand, were sullen.
Soon after, administrators entered the door.
“The household head has arrived.”
The children in their seats rose in unison.
Soon the surroundings became silent in an instant.
There was a low sound of heels outside the door.
At long last…
‘Whoa.’
When I saw the man who came into the door, I took in a sharp breath.
Still as ever, there’s that terribly intimidating atmosphere.
A black jacket made of a beast’s fur.
A robe adorned with all kinds of luxurious material.
The first thing that stood out was his eyes.
A fearsome look like a collection of all the evil things in the world.
That man is the villain of this world.
My grandfather, Duke Astra.
‘How overbearing.’
The younger children, older children—all of them, really—had turned blue.
The administrators were familiar with this reaction, so they didn’t react any differently.
Children and grandchildren alike were trembling, so it was natural.
One administrator said.
“The test has now started.”
Then, some other people dragged in a trolley. And what’s in the trolley was a frame.
The administrator lifted it and said,
“This is an excerpt from a historical book written in the ancient language.”
“…….”
“We shall give points to those who give the correct answer that is most similar to the interpretation revealed by scholars.”
‘It seems like it’ll be extremely difficult.’
The ancient language was a very difficult language to interpret.
There were few spellings and words that have been deciphered so far.
‘How could we possibly interpret that?’
The younger children, who have barely started learning their native language, wouldn’t be able to solve it. The older children were also already having mental breakdowns.
But the test started, and I had to do something.
The children groaned as they transcribed excerpts on the paper they handed out.
“So then… This…”
“Oh, because this letter has this pronunciation, I should…”
No matter how hard I try, there is no way I’ll pass this test.
‘Of course I can’t.’
It was not until last month that I learned the imperial language. The ancient language wouldn’t be something I’d already seen before.
Still, I thought it would be better to show some effort than to do nothing.
I got up on my tiptoes and looked at the excerpt.
Meanwhile, administrators were heard whispering.
“As expected, the problem was too difficult.”
“It’s just a few sentences, and the main family could do it, but I guess…”
“It’s because they’re of direct descent. Isn’t ancient language being taught to them in class?”
No one seemed to be expecting anything.
Grandfather stood up after staring at the children with cold eyes. He seemed to be leaving because there was nothing to see here.
At that moment.
“In thwe land, where the dwagon, has twaken its swumber… (In the land, where the dragon, has taken its slumber…)”
People’s eyes suddenly turned to me, who was rambling as I read the excerpt.
Even Grandfather stopped walking and looked at me.
The administrators’ eyes were wide open.
They hurriedly opened the book and began to flip through the pages.
“In the land where the dragon has taken its slumber… The interpretation is correct.”
“It’s ridiculous. How can a child, like this…”
Yeah.
It’s ridiculous.
‘Why is the ancient language Korean…?’
