This Three-Year-Old Is A Villainess - Chapter 38
Enzo let out a heavy sigh.
He understood why such rumors had spread.
Daymond returned to the main residence two years after Erylotte’s birth.
There was no way he could have sired a child in the middle of the raging war, so people probably claimed she was ‘made’.
The fact that Daymond hadn’t sent a single letter to his daughter had only fueled the rumors.
‘Those bastards.’
Enzo frowned and looked at Daymond.
“Did the General explain why he didn’t send a letter to the young lady?”
“…”
“You couldn’t contact her to protect her, right?”
Daymond was far away on the battlefield.
It was a place where he could not protect his child, even if someone had sinister intentions against her.
If Daymond had shown any concern for Erylotte, his siblings would have likely thought of her as his weakness.
In that case, they might have done anything to pressure Daymond.
That’s why, ironically, Daymond needed to show no interest and let them see that harming the child would yield no benefits.
“Isn’t that why you returned directly to the Astra Castle this time, not the jurisdiction, sir?”
“…Enough.”
Daymond took Erylotte to her room.
Lying on the bed, he stared at her.
“Now I’m not a bothew to Fathew anymowe, wight?”
With trembling hands, Erylotte had tightly clutched the blanket that was over her shoulders, squeezing it hard. She forced a smile, so as not to incur any hatred.
Daymond reached out towards Erylotte’s head, but his wounded hands, unable to touch her delicate face, were withdrawn.
“Uuung…”
Instead, he covered the trembling child with a blanket.

Waking up from my slumber, I slowly blinked my eyes.
The foggy state of my mind gradually cleared.
“Hmm?”
As my senses sharpened, I realized I was in my room.
I remembered falling asleep on the carriage yesterday. It seemed my father had brought me here.
Suddenly, the conversation we had yesterday flashed in my mind.
“You’re human.”
“Ywes…?”
“You’re my daughter.”
“…!”
That’s right!
I sprang out of bed.
My heart still felt overwhelmed as I thought about it.
‘My life as a ‘fake daughter’—no, a ‘fake human’. Bye!’
My father wouldn’t lie.
It meant that I was truly part of the Astra bloodline.
The days of living in fear of being abandoned or the truth coming out and suffering seemed like a distant memory. I couldn’t contain the joy welling up in my heart.
I quickly got out of bed. As I made my way to the door, the maids entered.
“Good morning, Miss… Oh?”
As I rushed towards the door and clung to my skirt, the maids widened their eyes in surprise.
“I gow out!”
“Yes, we’ll help you tidy up and style your hair beautifully.”
The maids helped me wash up, changed my clothes, and neatly arranged my hair.
‘I need to read the ancient language and then head to the barracks.’
I heard it clearly, but it was as if a child in me was urging, ‘Just one more time! I need to hear it one more time!’
I quickly headed to my grandfather’s study.
As always, he was engrossed in his work from the early morning, and Conrad was with him.
I greeted them with a “Hewwo” and took a seat opposite my grandfather.
Conrad smiled warmly.
“Hello, Young Miss. We heard you were injured on the mountain yesterday. Are you feeling better now?”
“I’m just a wittle hurt. Fathew sabe me.”
“That’s a relief. You should apply the medicine regularly, right?”
I nodded and then sat down across from my grandfather.
“Am gowing to wead the anshien langwage bookies twoday.” (I’m going to read the ancient language books today.)
Conrad looked at my grandfather, who nodded, and then brought out ancient history books stored in a protective box for me.
“Here’s where you should start.”
Conrad helped me find the page, and I began reading without hesitation.
Today’s content was no different from the previous days.
‘I’m almost finished reading everything.’
This was the result of reading every day.
When I had read about three pages, I heard footsteps outside the door.
Simultaneously, I heard the voice of the guard.
“Lord Daymond has arrived.”
Grandfather granted permission for him to enter.
Father strode into the room.
He nodded to my grandfather and handed over some documents he had been carrying.
“I’ve completed the paperwork for the subregion, and the Purification Stone has been handed over to the management department last night.”
“Alright.”
“I’m ready to depart to my jurisdiction now.”
Already?
I thought he would be staying at the castle until the end of the week, not leaving this early.
I couldn’t hide my sullen expression.
We had only recently confirmed that I was his legitimate child, and we hadn’t had much time to bond.
Grandfather briefly examined the documents my father presented.
“Very well.”
But then, my father, out of the blue, lifted me up…
‘Huh?!’
…And placed me on his hip.
“Alright.”
W-Wait, why me?
