Towards the Winter Cabin of Serenity and Madness, Cinderella Runs - Chapter 34
She acted rashly and irrationally out of fear. She thought that if he went down to the village, it would expose her past deeds. Roel blamed her irrational anxiety as she gazed at Kyden’s profile.
Her heart felt incredibly warm and comforted by him. When she was alone in the forest, she felt only loneliness, agonizing pain, and intense fear, but his presence dispelled all the darkness.
He was like the bright daylight, a warm fire, and a cabin shielding her from the wind. She wanted to be in his arms without any worries or guilt, to rely on him fully.
Yet, her past that made this impossible filled her with resentment.
Kyden brought over some bread he had bought from the village and soup that Roel had prepared earlier. He stopped Roel from getting up and served the meal on the bed.
“It’s best if you stay inside until spring. It might feel confining, but stay indoors.”
“I will.”
Roel quickly nodded. She was grateful enough for his eased anger that she felt no resentment.
Kyden watched her with a complicated expression before finally speaking.
“….Don’t ever play such jokes again.”
“I won’t. I really won’t.”
“You might be pregnant. What if your reckless actions caused a miscarriage?”
“What?”
Roel’s eyes widened in shock, while Kyden remained calm.
“It would be strange if you weren’t pregnant after all this time.”
“…”
“You know that, right?”
“Yes, I know.”
“Take care so you don’t miscarry.”
Roel’s eyes trembled.
Of course, she knew that sleeping together could lead to pregnancy. However, due to years of strenuous household chores and abuse, her menstrual cycle was irregular and often skipped months.
Stress and being underweight had taken a toll on her body. It was unlikely she was in a condition to conceive anytime soon, and she knew this better than anyone.
“….Yes, just in case. I’ll be careful.”
Wrapped in melancholy thoughts, Roel cradled her stomach and wondered anxiously. Did Kyden want a child? Was he being kind just because she might be pregnant? Would he leave her if he knew she might have difficulty conceiving?
Roel was habitually trapped in negative thoughts, which, like uncontrolled vines, spread anxiety and unease without any rational basis.
Kyden removed her clothes.
“Your clothes are wet; it’s better to take them off.”
Despite Roel’s depressed reaction, Kyden couldn’t suppress his selfish desires. He was convinced she must be pregnant. If not, they just had to keep trying until she was.
This thought helped soothe his frustration and anxiety over not knowing her true feelings. Whether Roel continued to lie or whatever had happened in the village…
If a child came, Roel would abandon any foolish thoughts of moving to another village. While pregnant, she wouldn’t be able to cross the mountains, and after the child’s birth, it would be even harder for her to leave.
He felt despicable and petty for thinking this way. For using such a strategy to make Roel give up her possible plans, but Kyden did not curb his ruthless determination.
* * *
It had been a long day, and Roel felt she could finally sleep without nightmares. Exhausted, she didn’t think she could even lift a finger.
Yet, under the guise of warming her, Kyden moved between her legs. She almost protested from the exhaustion but instead held him, perhaps truly finding joy in his eager desire for her body.
This satisfaction was different from physical pleasure; it was a mental fulfillment, a healing of the soul. Though her body was weary, her heart felt full.
“Ha, Kyden.”
“Relax.”
“…”
With his desires blatantly apparent, Kyden devoured her chest passionately while gazing down between her legs. He grazed her n-ked body like a starved beast.
As she observed his raw and base appearance, Roel harbored no doubts. His emotions might have been indecipherable, but his desire was crystal clear.
Was it love, affection, or just a fleeting interest? Unlike the ambiguous feelings, his lust was transparent.
Despite likely feeling disappointed and angry with her earlier, seeing him aroused by her presence made her feel a warmth spreading inside her.
To further incite his excitement, she widely spread her legs and arched her back, exposing herself more fully.
Her dry and fractured heart yearned to be soaked with his desire. She was long starved for emotional fulfillment, so Roel found herself forgetting any embarrassment as she experienced a new level of satisfaction.
She desperately craved the sense of completeness that only Kyden could provide.
“Hurry, put it in… please.”
