Towards the Winter Cabin of Serenity and Madness, Cinderella Runs - Chapter 86
Roel’s distress made her seem pitiful, but Kyden couldn’t stop. At this moment, he realized just how selfish and violent he truly was. He had pretended to respect Roel’s choices, but it was all a ruse. He didn’t want to incur her hatred, so he acted deceitfully.
From the start, he never intended to let her go, nor did he plan to adhere to her decisions. Kyden wanted Roel. He intended to take responsibility for her and love her. His goals were clear. The only difference lay in how and when he would achieve them.
The night was far too short. He was unsatisfied. The dark desire inside him writhed angrily, and his mouth felt parched from thirst. Dawn was already breaking.
Unable to hide his frustration, Kyden burrowed into Roel’s limp form.
“Haah, Roel. Rest for a bit, and then let’s continue. Rest up quickly… and we’ll go again.”
There was no response. Her consciousness had long since faded. Yet, he stubbornly waited for her reply, pressing his lips to her cheek.
The reward for his patience was bittersweet. It was as sweet as it was coveted, igniting his greed even further.
* * *
The young knight, freshly bathed, felt incredibly dirty. Staying at a run-down inn was already unpleasant, but to have a woman working there refuse to serve him during his bath was a blow to his pride. Although he didn’t show it outwardly, he felt deeply insulted.
After composing himself, he headed towards the bathroom, only to encounter a man with a nearly flawless physique, hardly resembling a mercenary. His mood dropped to rock bottom.
The irritable knight found Roel standing in front of a room as he climbed the stairs.
“Hmph?”
She refused to serve during baths but was entering the guest room? He snorted, shaking out his wet hair with a towel.
Of course. Was she pretending to be pure to gain favor? He smirked, restoring his pride by disparaging Roel’s intentions.
He caught a glimpse of the man inside the room, the one who had shattered his pride in the bathroom. His mood soured even more.
He could have taken much better care of her than these people staying here… His irritation soared.
The young knight entered Room 206.
Although it was a single room, it was shabby and cramped compared to a hotel. It was frustrating to have to stay in such a place after coming all the way to the capital. After all, he was a knight tasked with the important duty of escorting his lord to the appointment ceremony.
All because of that old fool. The young knight grumbled as he lay down on the stiff, rough blanket.
As he closed his eyes to fall asleep, he heard a strange moan.
“Huh, ahh…! Mmm.”
The young knight’s eyes flew open. Knights had much sharper senses than ordinary people. They were trained to be acutely aware of presence and hostility.
He wasn’t imagining things. His face crumpled in frustration.
‘Damn it, is it from the next room?’
Of all the rooms, it had to be Room 207, the one occupied by the woman who pretended to be so innocent.
It could happen, he thought. What’s so surprising about someone using their worn-out body to make money? He almost fell for that innocent, pure face. You can’t judge a person by their appearance.
The knight snorted and ground his teeth in irritation. He couldn’t understand why he felt increasingly disgusted as he belittled the woman.
He pulled the blanket up over his head to block out the sounds.
Whether it was because the blanket was thin or because his nerves were entirely focused on the noise that had started, he couldn’t sleep. He became more and more focused on the moans coming from the next room.
‘Stop it and go to sleep already! Just sleep!’
He couldn’t get comfortable enough to sleep, his pride hurt because he was aroused. It was even more humiliating to think about touching himself while listening to someone else having s-x. He fought to suppress his desires with a sense of utter humiliation.
At this point, it was a battle with himself.
‘I’m not aroused. I’m not aroused. I’m not an animal who gets hard from hearing a few moans.’
The knight, having been stuck in Room 206, got up with a grim face.
‘That bastard, what is he, an animal? How can he keep going all night…’
Dawn was breaking.
He hadn’t slept a wink, battling with himself. While the other guy had spent a blissful night, he had endured a torturous night of waiting.
“Damn bastard… I won’t let this go.”
The young knight’s pride had been thoroughly crushed.
