Trapped in a Secret Room With the Magnificent Duke - Chapter 27
“D-Duke…? Did you just say you’re going crazy?”
Kadrion gave a faint smile and shook his head, dismissing it as nothing. The manager responded with an awkward smile, adding:
“By the way, it seems the Duchess truly loves you very much. She’s been watching you so closely from such a nearby spot.”
Kadrion’s lips curled up slightly at the manager’s words.
“You knew about that?”
“It’s hard not to notice. Her gaze towards you is so intense…”
Though Reyna’s surveillance skills had noticeably improved over the past few days, Kadrion chose not to mention it. He stifled his urge to boast about Reyna’s love for him.
Reyna had never once tried to follow him or find out his whereabouts before, which made her sudden change both pleasing and unsettling. On one hand, it felt good to see her love for him; on the other, it suggested she might have some doubts or suspicions.
“Hah…”
Kadrion sighed softly. He had a hunch about why Reyna had suddenly started following him around obsessively.
‘It would be good to talk to her soon.’
But first, he needed to make sure that everything from that day was settled. It was still strange.
That day, after Kadrion had slipped out of the manor, Bennet had visited the Duke and Duchess’s bedroom and reported that Reyna was the one who had come out. Kadrion felt like he was caught in some strange enchantment.
Because when he had checked again at that time, the woman in the Duke and Duchess’s bedroom had definitely not been Reyna.

As the business discussion concluded, Kadrion stood up.
“Then please take care, Duke.”
“Thank you for your efforts.”
Reyna kept her face hidden beneath her large hat, bowing her head until Kadrion had completely exited the coffee house. Once he had moved a good distance away, she got up.
“Did it suit your taste?”
The attendant’s question made Reyna smile faintly as she replied, “The flavor is deep, and the aroma is quite pleasant.”
“I’m glad to hear that you’re satisfied. This is with our newly acquired beans…”
The attendant continued discussing the new beans with Reyna, who pretended to listen but then turned her head toward Kadrion.
‘Hm? Where did he go?’
Kadrion was nowhere in sight. Reyna, alarmed, glanced around and asked one of her guards, who was also in disguise, for his whereabouts.
“Where did the Duke go?”
“He went that way.”
Fortunately, while Reyna had missed him due to her conversation with the attendant, the guard had kept an eye on Kadrion the whole time. Reyna thanked him briefly and hurried to follow Kadrion.
“I found him!”
Luckily, Kadrion was not too far away. He had stopped for a moment, standing and staring intently at something. His expression seemed unusual, as if he was deeply shocked.
“What on earth is he so fixated on?”
Reyna naturally followed Kadrion’s gaze.
“An exotic… dancer?”
Reyna furrowed her brow. The person capturing Kadrion’s attention was a dancer who had recently gained popularity. Reyna’s grip on her parasol tightened.
‘So the tastes of both father and son are the same.’
When Kadrion was away at the palace, Reyna had once gone out with Diego to Saint Street.
They had encountered a similar exotic dancer promoting her performance on the street, and Diego had also been unable to tear his eyes away from her. Reyna watched the dancer, clad in a revealing outfit, for a while, contemplating whether she should try wearing something similar for Kadrion’s birthday.
She had heard that sometimes changes could be a good stimulus for a marital relationship. However, thinking that such attire would be inappropriate for young Diego, she had quickly left the scene.
Reflecting on that moment, Reyna bit her lip.
‘No way. Could it be that Kadrion had refused to sleep together recently…’
Reyna shook her head, trying to push down the creeping anxiety.
‘No, Kadrion wouldn’t do that.’
Then she noticed her reflection in a shop window.
A wife who seemed to be stalking her husband like a jealous fool. She suddenly felt pathetic.
Reyna turned her gaze away from Kadrion, who was intently watching the dancer, and promptly boarded the carriage back to the Duke’s estate.

Meanwhile, Kadrion was frozen in place, unable to decide what to do.
The woman in front of him was the very same woman who had been lying in the Duke and Duchess’s bedroom.
But it was only for a moment. Kadrion gritted his teeth and glared at the woman before him.
