Villain, Let Me Touch You! - Chapter 25
Late at night, the lights were bright in Helios’s study. Helios sat with his arms crossed, casting an indifferent gaze towards Jamie. It was merely a glance, yet a cold sweat trickled down Jamie’s back.
It was because of Helios’s demeanor.
He often smiled when he was with Rienna, often making people forget, but Helios tended to be mostly expressionless. He was like a sheet of ice. Just looking at him gave her chills. So, whenever he looked at her with his sharp eyes, it felt like a piercing cold.
“Jamie.”
Merely calling her name made Jamie flinch.
“I have something I want to ask.”
“Ask away! Anything, everything! I’ll tell you everything!”
Jamie wanted to escape the chilling glare as quickly as possible, so she ended up making a promise she shouldn’t have.
“I heard screaming coming from Rienna’s room this afternoon. What happened?”
“Oh, that’s…”
Jamie looked away, swallowing hard. The name vividly etched on Rienna’s thigh came to mind. When Rienna had woken up in the evening after the commotion in the bathroom, she had made a strange request, pleading her not to speak about it.
She said something about it being like Voldemort.
Incomprehensible word aside, Rienna had warned that something terrible would happen if she said the name of the person that’s been imprinted on her.
Jamie had laughed it off as a joke at first, but when she saw the imprint, she had to agree. She kept her mouth shut out of loyalty to Rienna.
At that moment, a chill ran down Jamie’s spine as a blade grazed her throat.
Loyalty or life.
Naturally…
Life!
Loyalty can only be honored when you’re alive. What good is it when you’re dead?
After silently apologizing to Rienna a hundred times, Jamie said, “Rienna imprinted.”
With a rumble, the sky which had been dark all afternoon, roared with thunder. She froze in place as lightning flashed, locking eyes with Helios. Her face of sheer terror was reflected in his sharp eyes.
“Rienna imprinted? With whom?” Helios muttered, paying no attention to Jamie falling backward. “Who would that son of a b***h be? Who do you think it is, Vincenzo?”
Vincenzo shivered, his eyes darting around the room. Finally, his eyes settled on Jamie.
“Right, I’ll ask Jamie,” said Helios. “Jamie, tell me, which a**hole’s name was carved into Rienna.”
Helios remained composed. His voice was as sweet as if coated in honey. Yet, why did it feel so frightening?
“You’re not an a**hole…” Jamie said tearfully.
“What, calling me the a**hole? Are you playing a joke on me?”
Helios’s knife moved away for a moment, and then it was at Jamie’s throat again.
“It’s not that…if I had to specify, more like a lion…”
Jamie’s voice trailed off. Helios’s brow wrinkled as he didn’t quite hear him.
“What did you say?”
“Oh, no, I was just freaking out and rambling, I’m sorry.”
Helios found Jamie’s behaviour very displeasing, but he didn’t berate her further. He may have been agitated, but he knew what his priorities were. Right now, the most pressing need was to find the bastard who had left his mark on Rienna’s body.
The bastard, the one who deserved it, the one who deserved to be torn apart.
Helios cooled his boiling temper and said, “The person imprinted on Rienna, tell me their name.”
Well… um…” Jamie stumbled over her words.
Vincenzo, who had felt they might end up disposing of a body, reluctantly intervened. “I was wondering what you’d do if you found out.”
Helios turned to look at Vincenzo. “Find and bring them here.”
Not sending Rienna away but bringing them here. It was an odd solution.
“What do you plan to do after bringing them here?”
“Keep them alive, next to Rienna. People don’t die just because they lose an arm or a leg. Isn’t that right?”
There was a sullen air about Helios. Vincenzo looked perplexed.
“Jamie, I’ve asked you quite a few times, and I’m only letting you off the hook because Rienna cares about you, but that’s it. Whoever is imprinted on Rienna, name it.”
Jamie’s eyes darted wildly from side to side. She’d been feeling sorry for herself, but this conversation was making her feel sorry for Helios. Helios, who was going to lose an arm, a leg, and become an a**hole.
“Rienna imprinted with… it’s… Helios Perry Augustine. Your Highness’s name appeared!” Jamie blurted out.
“…!”
Could a lightning bolt strike you in the face? Jamie, shocked, looked at the rigid Helios and thought it might just be possible.
