Villain, Let Me Touch You! - Chapter 42
“The World Fair.”
I told Helios, who stopped by for afternoon tea, where I wanted to go.
“The World Fair sounds nice.”
“Why don’t you ask why I want to go?”
As he set down his teacup, he took my hand.
“Is the reason important? We’re going because you want to. Just because I hear the reason doesn’t mean I won’t go. But if we’re going outside, I need to prepare a bit. I won’t be able to go out tomorrow.”
He always managed to move me unexpectedly.
If I asked him to go with me, would he go to a cave? To Antarctica? Oh, yeah, he’d probably even accompany me to a haunted house.
“Yes, that’s right.”
“What?”
“If you ask me to go, I’ll go.”
I was so surprised that I quickly covered my mouth, then, even more surprised, I dropped my hand.
The hand I unconsciously raised was the right hand that Helios had grabbed, and I thought it was the back of my hand that touched his lips, but it was the back of his hand.
I was genuinely embarrassed now.
“Did I say that out loud?”
“You were mumbling it.”
I wonder if one of the after-effects of imprinting was talking to yourself.
Oh no, I got frustrated with myself and shook my head at the ridiculous thought.
As I sipped my tea, I remembered the pamphlet promoting the World Fair.
They said they were selling perfume and other things that were good for imprinting.
The World Fair was the place to experience the latest technology and new products from all continents firsthand. In the past, it used to be a place merely for showcasing goods. But over the past decade or so, it also shared information about cutting-edge research. They would reward artisans for innovative technological advancements and scholars for world-changing research.
Now, the World Fair had become a bustling ground for scouting talent, comparing the competitiveness of each country, and an exciting festival where you could see advancements in science and technology at a glance.
This was my first time attending the World Fair. Since it only occurred every three years, it didn’t align well with the timing of my transmigration.
I might be able to gather imprint-related information at the World Fair. Since it’s the latest information, there might be something useful.
The papers I borrowed from the Royal Palace Library were garbage.
They were like a college student’s senior thesis.
Copying and pasting, paraphrasing, and plagiarizing…
Some of them stood out, but the conclusions were always the same.
“Surrender to fate.”
It was a hard conclusion for me to accept.
“The day after tomorrow would be better, Rienna.”
I looked up, and Helios smiled sweetly.
“The day after tomorrow is free for the World Fair. So we’ll see the Queen Mother tomorrow.”
“What?”
“You’ll need a lot of escorts when you go out.”
“But, Your Highness, if you’re with me…”
“I don’t often go out myself… it’s scary.”
Helios shrugged, but it was a lie.
He was the Commander of the Imperial First Knights. He ascended to that position purely based on his skill, occupying the position as soon as he turned 20.
He carried the expectation of potentially becoming a Swordmaster, a title passed down only when one’s skill reaches its peak.
It’s safe to say that the phrase ‘strength of a hundred men’ was made for Helios, but he was scared?
“I’ll make an appointment for tomorrow, okay?”
But it was Helios who would have to fight if something came up, and I had no right to tell him I didn’t need an escort when I would just watch from the sidelines.
“Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“This dress is so heavy.”
The lacy dress was unexpectedly heavy, but as stifling as I’d expected.
“If you get permission to get engaged, you will have to wear something heavier than this. So please stay still.”
Jamie scolded sternly, pulling around the tightly cinched waist.
I looked wistfully at the casual clothes draped over the couch—a ruffled shirt and a full, wide skirt that came to my calves.
“Stop staring and get going. The Queen dislikes being kept waiting. She’s notorious for not seeing you if you’re even a second late.”
“Right, that’s how it was.”
I hurriedly left the room. Even if I went now, I could still arrive with plenty of time to spare.
However, I couldn’t meet Demyr. It was due to encountering a patient on the way to the Queen’s palace.
