Villain, Let Me Touch You! - Chapter 45
Silver hair down to her waist, eyes as blue as the ocean, skin so transparent it seemed light could penetrate it, and a gentle demeanor reminiscent of a puppy.
“Miss Chloe, are you all right?”
The man I’d saved pushed past me and held out his hand to her.
“Thank you.”
Chloe accepted the man’s outstretched hand without hesitation.
I watched in a daze as she rose to her feet. She seemed like a fairy described in a novel, small and delicate, stirring even my protective instincts. Pretty, very pretty. If she were an idol, she would have gathered fans of all ages like clouds.
“By the way, who is that person?”
Chloe gestured towards me, standing behind the man. The man stood beside Chloe and introduced me.
“She’s a doctor and my savior. This is Doctor…?”
“You don’t have to address me so formally. My name is…”
“Oh, dear, are you feeling unwell?”
Chloe cut in while I was talking, facing the man directly. I think I just got completely ignored.
“Are you okay now? How much pain were you in? I have emergency medication with me if you would like some?”
“I was cured by this doctor here…”
“I see you have a lot of dirt on your clothes, so I’m wondering…did you fall down, are you dizzy?”
“Let me explain. The patient is…”
Chloe cut in again, seemingly trying to show concern but interrupting the conversation repeatedly.
“I know a good doctor. I’ll take you to him.”
By this point, I was confident that Chloe was ignoring me. It was just too blatant to be anything but deliberate. Whenever the man tried to look at me, she grabbed his arm and diverted his attention, cutting my words abruptly.
It seems like she doesn’t like me.
Suddenly, I wanted to ask: you don’t like me, do you, sis?
“Miss Chloe, I’m not feeling any pain right now. I just met with a doctor. Can you give us a moment?”
After calming her down, she reluctantly moved to his side.
Finally, I got a proper view of him from the front, not just his back. Come to think of it, the man was quite a handsome gentleman. When standing side by side, they looked like a perfectly matched couple.
Perfect couple?
A sense of déjà vu hit me. Their pose, I feel like I’ve seen it somewhere before.
Without deep consideration, it’s most likely from “Tattoo: Chains of Destiny.”
Benz Peter, the heir to the dukedom, was a highly regarded scholar. At a young age, having secured a professorship at the academy, he took a brief respite in the capital. Parents of marriageable young ladies lined up at his doorstep, yet he paid no heed to any of them. He already had his destiny. Benz Peter, with a name clearly etched beside his belly button, was imprinted with Chloe Dorian.
The raven-black hair that was tied back…
Of course! Benz was the only long-haired man in the novel. I was still a little confused, but I was soon convinced. The moment our eyes met, he smiled.
…His laughter was like whipped cream.
The writer’s description is accurate. There were no words to describe his smile other than whipped cream.
That’s Benz. One of the heroine’s suitors.
Benz walked over to me with that polite whipped cream smile. He pulled out a handkerchief and wiped his hands. Then he held it out to me, palm up, as if he intended for me to place my hand so that he could kiss it.
“It would please me if you would honor me with your name. Will you grant me the privilege of greeting the doctor?”
“I am…”
A kiss on the back of the hand can mean many things. Respect, affection, or submission.
Whatever it was, the greeting between Benz and me wasn’t meant to happen. It was more fitting for Chloe and Benz. To be exact, it was a greeting that Chloe and Benz had to exchange.
It didn’t flow well. I felt like I was interrupting the heroine’s meeting with the hero. If I did, I’d be in trouble.
As I hid my hand behind my back, a question mark appeared on Benz’s face. Hehe, with an awkward laugh, I took a step back toward Jamie.
“Lord Benz, I’m a little busy.” I said, glancing at the Queen’s Palace.
“Jamie, let’s run.”
“It’s already late,” Jamie replied in a resigned tone.
“We have to run.”
“You won’t meet her anyway.”
“Not to the Queen’s Palace, but to the Prince’s Palace.”
Jamie shook her head. I pretended not to notice the mix of emotions she was having when she looked at me. Was she having a headache?
I grabbed Jamie’s hand firmly and started running.
“Forget about today’s events, absolutely forget about them!” I shouted as I ran.
I ran until the soles of my feet were sweating, trying to get as far away from Chloe and Benz as possible.
I hope the author recognizes my tearful efforts to adhere to their crappy original work.
You better give me some sort of award for this, author.
