Villain, Let Me Touch You! - Chapter 57
While trying to regain my balance, I inadvertently twisted my ankle. I couldn’t tell if it was injured, but my ankle throbbed in pain. I gingerly lifted my sore ankle and glanced around.
As time passed, the pain intensified.
“There doesn’t seem to be anywhere to sit.”
Although there were resting areas scattered throughout the massive exhibition hall, they were occupied by numerous people. I gave up on sitting down to examine my ankle and sighed, leaning against the wall.
“Are you hurt?”
A clear voice reached my ears. When I turned my head, there was a man with a slightly troubled expression on his face.
“I’m not a bad guy. I’m assisting with today’s presentations.”
The man showed me a card that read ‘Presenter.’
“Oh, I see.”
Not sure why this man was talking to me, I vaguely nodded.
“Seems like you’ve been hurt. Can I help you? Don’t worry about it; I have some time before my presentation. I’m Kama Jin.”
He didn’t need to tell me his name, but Kama went ahead and introduced himself dutifully.
Impressed by his positive demeanor and manner of speaking, I felt less guarded. I pointed at my ankle with my fingers.
“I hurt my ankle.”
“Oh, really?”
Kama seemed surprised and rushed off somewhere. Soon, he returned holding a chair in his hands.
“Please, have a seat.”
“Where did you get this?”
“I know someone working here. I borrowed a chair used for the event supplies.”
Kama was exceptionally kind, making me wonder if he had any ulterior motives. Since I didn’t know when Helios would arrive, I decided to sit in the chair for now.
“Thank you.”
When I bowed in gratitude, he smiled warmly. The nostrils of his nose widened and then returned to its original size. After helping me, instead of leaving as expected, Kama lingered around me and eventually struck up a conversation.
“Is this your first time at the World Fair?”
“Yes, it’s my first time. Is it yours too, Kama?”
“Yes, it is. There are so many fascinating things.”
Kama’s eyes sparkled with excitement. Sitting back in my chair, I relaxed, grateful and eager to hear what he had to say.
“Did you know you can make a perfume that smells exactly like the person you’re imprinting? There’s a booth called Copy Perfume—you must check it out if you haven’t.”
Excited by my response, or just being the talkative person he is, Kama chatted nonstop. He was talking about all the cool things and technologies he’d seen at the World’s Fair.
As I listened to his explanations, I noticed something unusual.
“So, you’re interested in imprinting?”
“Yes, because I have an imprint.”
“Oh, really? Congratulations!”
Seeing someone confidently mention their engraving, they must be happy with their soulmate. I couldn’t help but be a little jealous.
“Haha, it’s still too early to celebrate.”
Kama shrugged, rubbed the back of his head, and smirked, as if he’d just remembered who he imprinted with.
He does look like he’s happy with it.
As someone whose imprint was one-sided, I felt envious indeed.
He looked at me with a glint in his eyes, as if seeking something. I couldn’t help but smirk at the anticipation on his face. Unable to contain himself any longer, Kama blurted out his inner thoughts.
“Aren’t you curious?”
I wasn’t really. However, in the face of his pleading expression, I couldn’t bring myself to say no.
Let’s just hang out until Helios arrives. After all, Kama did fetch a chair for me.
“I am curious. Who are they?”
He beamed, and the words spilled out as if he’d been waiting for the question this entire time.
“She’s incredibly beautiful, like an angel descended from the heavens. When you’re around her, the whole place lights up. She’s a cheerful and lively person.”
It was cliché and exaggerated praise.
“Oh, I see.”
So, my response was somewhat perfunctory. Frankly, I’m not curious about other people’s significant others at all. However, Kama’s story wasn’t over.
“She has silver hair. It’s long, reaching down to her waist, and it sparkles like a galaxy when it catches the light. Her eyes are like jewels, ah, it’s such a cliché description, right? But I can’t explain it any other way.”
The praise for her appearance had begun. However, a familiar description caught my attention.
Silver hair, long flowing locks, sparkling like a galaxy when in the light.
This sounds exactly like Chloe. Could this be one of the men who gets imprinted with her?
