Villain, Let Me Touch You! - Chapter 7
“Your Highness, wait!”
Something was wrong. I felt like I’d missed something very important.
“I’m sorry, Your Highness!” I grabbed his thigh as he walked away.
“Hey! Are you insane? Will you let go of me already?” Fire spewed from Helios’s mouth.
However, I paid no mind to that. The letters appeared before me once again.
Migraine, temperature 37.5 degrees Celsius, low-grade fever.
There was no need for interpretation—just a clear indication of the patient’s symptoms.
Could this possibly be Helios’s symptoms?
I cautiously removed my hand. As I did, the words disappeared.
“I told you to treat me, and now you’re harassing me.” Helios clicked his tongue and seized my wrist. This time, the words didn’t appear.
I shook my head as he lifted me up, it was clear that despite being a patient, he was still significantly strong.
Hanging limply from his hand, I tried to make sense of this unusual phenomenon that was happening before my eyes. I’m pretty sure I know what it is, but I just couldn’t put my finger on it.
It only appears if I’m the one who’s doing the touching, right? Maybe if I touch him one more time…
I stole a quick glance at Helios’s sullen face.
He seems really upset. He won’t let me do it, will he?
I could already see the refusal in his eyes. He was about to erupt in anger.
On the sixth day, I’ve already heard him yell and reject me several times, but I could never get used to it, even though he’s my favorite.
I’m human too—I get hurt.
But I had no time to hesitate. Tomorrow was the day I’d die. Might as well not care since I’m dying anyway!
I squeezed my eyes shut and shouted, “Your Highness, may I touch you!?” I spoke firmly, but my voice trembled. My ears were throbbing with pain.
“…”
There was no way he couldn’t have heard, but there was no response.
I cautiously opened my eyes, just enough to see my fluttering eyelashes. But there was nothing to be seen.
In novels, even when you open your eyes slightly, you can see everything! Why can’t I see anything?
Indeed, novels were deceptive.
Grumbling, I fully opened my eyes. He didn’t seem startled by me yelling like I feared. But he was still looking at me like I was some kind of freak.
As I pondered what that look meant, his answer came.
“Are you…a pervert instead of a quack?”
I was stunned. I was speechless.
Distorting my pure intentions as a doctor striving to treat the patient! Sure, there was a teeny-tiny, eensy bit of curiosity about his rock-like thighs, but it was a rational curiosity. It’s because I’m fascinated by the patient having such sturdy muscles.
That’s the truth, please believe me.
“N-no, that’s not it. I-I mean, for a proper examination, palpation is usually necessary.”
“Palpating my thigh?”
If I deny it here, what I just did—feeling his thigh—would not be considered an examination but harassment.
I rolled my eyes to the left and replied, “Yes.”
“Your voice is shaking.”
“Of course not. There’s a massive vein running through the thigh. By observing if the vein pulses vigorously or not, you can tell if someone’s healthy!” I blurted out anything that came to mind, then felt a strong urge to bite my tongue.
What kind of thing pulses vigorously through the thigh?
Helios’s needle-like gaze pierced through my cheek. I didn’t look away, afraid that if I did, he’d know I was lying.
After a long moment of staring, Helios released me.
“Fine. Touch it.”
Finally, he gave me the chance. I cheered on the inside and smiled broadly.
“But if you fail to treat me properly, it won’t be the Empress’s hand but mine that ends your life. Mocking the Crown Prince isn’t a light offense.”
Is this another red flag?
“What should I do? Shall I sit on a chair? Or stand? I could also lie down on the bed for you.” Helios was overly proactive. He seemed more scarily aggressive like this than when he was shouting at me to stop.
Trembling, I gestured to the bed with my shaky hand. Since I’m touching, might as well do it properly. Until I’m certain.
Helios chuckled lightly. As he passed by me, he said, dripping with sarcasm, “You’re a pervert.”
