Villain, Let Me Touch You! - Chapter 86
I rubbed the bridge of my nose and pulled out the papers Helios had given me. It was a compilation of cases similar to Kama Jin’s suicide, many victims having the same scars. I eyed the most recent of them.
— Case scheduled for closure on April 00, 00. Bodies to be returned to family upon case closure.
I guess I’ll have to make one more trip to the morgue.
I grabbed my coat and told Jamie, “Let His Highness know that I’ll be visiting the constabulary.”
Helios and I shared a kiss this morning, just like any other morning. Recalling the kiss, which had become routine, made my cheeks warm. After calculating that I could handle at least half a day without any issues, I made sure to inform Jamie of my return time.
“I’ll be back by lunchtime!”

Nick laid out the sketches of the corpse and clutched his head.
“Hey, why did you die?” He spoke to the drawing, even caressing it tenderly. Naturally, the man in the picture remained silent.
“Please, just say something!” Nick pounded his chest.
Watching his actions, the other officers discreetly stepped back.
“Seems like he’s gone mad, doesn’t it?”
“I’m not afraid to ask what’s wrong with him. I think he might be under a curse.”
“Maybe it’s not a curse but an imprint? At least it’s romantic. But fixating on a drawing… it’s scary.”
Nick’s insides bubbled with anger. Don’t these officers have any thoughts on the series of suicides? Is what’s in their heads just muscles instead of brains?
I focused too much on physical training. I should have made these guys study too.
Nick sighed heavily and swept up all the pictures. With no one above him interested, and the people below him calling him crazy, it seemed like Kama Jin’s death would be ruled a suicide.
It’s a pity, but what could he do? It’s all because of his own incompetence.
“Are you giving up already? Why?”
That gentle voice sounded out of place in the station.
Then, a hand that tapped on his desk was delicate and slender. The scent of flowers tickled Nick’s nose.
Nick looked up. Before him stood the woman who had made his heart race last time—not from romance, but out of fear. There was no romance in his life, after all.
“Rienna…Lady Harris? Are you alright now?”
The day Rienna collapsed and was embraced by Helios remained vivid in Nick’s memory.
‘Lady Rienna is not feeling very well, and she is very vulnerable to hard work and mental stress. If you need her help, please contact me.’
Vincenzo’s advice pricked Nick’s conscience. As he listened, Nick felt like a scumbag who had gotten carried away with his investigation and harassed people without thinking. He had started out wanting to help people, but now he felt like he was causing them distress. On that day, Nick blamed himself for quite a while.
So, he abandoned the idea of seeking help from Rienna. Besides, he most likely had already heard all the information she could provide.
But then she showed up.
“Your hairstyle… has changed?”
And she looked healthier.
Nick ran his hand through his hair. “Not really. What brings you here?”
“I heard that you’re investigating cases similar to Kama Jin’s.”
“That’s correct.”
“I was wondering if I could help. Are there any bodies that haven’t been buried yet?”
“Bodies?”
Nick wasn’t sure what to make of Rienna’s behavior; she wanted to see a body out of the blue. And it showed.
“You might think it’s strange, but I believe there are commonalities among the people who died, including Kama Jin.”
“You mean the burn wounds?”
“I’m hoping they’re just burn wounds, but…”
