“Chloe, do you see here? There’s your name, isn’t it beautiful?”
As her gaze traveled down the man’s naked torso, his muscular back, she saw her name. It was tattooed near his waist, and Chloe couldn’t take her eyes off it for quite some time.
A name that fit the man’s sculpted body perfectly. Chloe Dorian.
“Chloe, are you looking?”
Despite the impatience in the man’s voice, it took Chloe a while before she responded.
“I’m looking. It suits you well.”
The man’s back and shoulders shook. A gleeful laugh came through the tremors.
Chloe tore her gaze away from my name and turned away. She hastily picked up the items she hadn’t had a chance to tidy up, preparing to greet the man who had suddenly appeared.
“What were you researching?”
The man turned, threading his arms through his shirt. A touch of conquest cloaked his expression.
“Heinz, weren’t you supposed to be at work?” Chloe redirected the conversation, eager to usher him out.
“I was just stopping by before I went to work. It’s almost my shift and I have to go in. Too bad, huh?”
Heinz folded his large frame to embrace Chloe. She frowned at his affectionate gesture, yet her hand gently stroked his back.
Even the slightest touch seemed to lift Heinz’s spirits, as he shuddered at the contact. His warm breath crept into Chloe’s ear.
Disgusting.
A deep frown creased Chloe’s brow. She pushed Heinz away by his shoulders.
“It’s getting late. You should go now.”
“Already? Are you too busy today? Now that I’ve secured a patron, can’t we take it easy with the research?” Heinz wore a visibly disappointed expression.
Chloe regarded Heinz silently for a moment.
“What, do I look handsome today?” he asked.
Chloe nodded absentmindedly. Objectively, his appearance wasn’t bad at all. He had a great physique and a respectable job as a security officer, ticking all the boxes for a desirable partner.
That’s why I imprinted on him.
This man was too easy. A few smiles from her and he was putty in her hands, willing to let her imprint her name on him so easily.
