Villain, Let Me Touch You! - Chapter 91
Benz can’t be imprinted on either.
After failing to mark both Helios and Benz, Chloe thought something was wrong with her ability. But her power was still intact.
Just look at Heinz, whom she had successfully marked after those two failures.
“I wanted to spend time with you today, but we suddenly got an emergency alert.”
“An emergency? Why? Is there a problem?”
“I really shouldn’t be saying this…”
Heinz trailed off, acting as if it were top secret. But judging by the way his eyes gleamed, he liked the attention.
“I’m curious. You know me, I’m good at keeping secrets.”
Chloe ran her hand over Heinz’s chest. His mouth parted slightly.
With just one touch, he spilled confidential information like it was nothing.
My ability hasn’t disappeared.
Which meant someone was interfering with her plans. It didn’t take long for her to figure out who.
There was someone who had been bothering her lately.
“…There’s this woman named Rienna. The rumor is that she’s the crown princess-to-be. Anyway, she and the inspector are working together, and because of them, we’re the ones stuck doing all the extra work.”
That name slipped from Heinz’s lips.
“Who did you say?”
“Rienna Harris.”
So that was the name of the nuisance.
I’ll have to get rid of her.
Not that it mattered. If someone gets in her way, then they were this world’s bad guy. Removing them wouldn’t be a crime.
“You must be exhausted. You should rest.”
“Yeah, I want to rest. Preferably with you.”
Heinz clung to her again.
I’ll make sure you rest forever. Just not yet.
She had made her imprint on the patrol officer just in case, and as expected, Heinz was proving to be useful.
“Finish your work and come find me. I’ll be waiting once I’m done too.”
A grin stretched across Heinz’s face. His heart trembled at her words, at the slightest movement of her hand.
Is this the effect of the imprint?
If a one-sided imprint made him this happy, how blissful would he be as a true pair?
Heinz took Chloe’s fingertips and rubbed them between his own.
“I hope my name appears on your body soon.”
“It will.”
It never would.
There was only one name that would ever be etched onto her body — the name of the one who would claim this empire.
Not some lowly, hollow man with no value beyond his looks.
“I’m waiting for your name to appear.”
Chloe lied effortlessly.
Parting with Heinz was long. Too long, because he dawdled.
Since Chloe had decided to use him, she didn’t chase him away.
She even smiled at him until he disappeared from view, but that smile vanished the moment he was out of sight.
Chloe shut the door firmly. Then she locked every window and drew the curtains.
Thick, heavy fabric swallowed the room in darkness.
She waited for her eyes to adjust before stepping into the dressing room.
For a noble daughter from a lowly house, the collection was extravagant. Dresses, lavish and costly, lined the racks in excess.
Chloe gazed at them with satisfaction before sweeping them aside with a rough hand, revealing a small door hidden behind the garments.
She knew no one was there, but she still glanced around before opening it.
The old door groaned eerily.
Beyond it, the darkness was even deeper than her room’s. Chloe stepped inside without fear.
Chloe moved through the darkness with practiced ease until she reached the opposite wall.
Her fingers stretched out, grazing the fabric that covered it.
A smirk twitched at her lips. Her eyes gleamed.
She slid the cloth aside.
A wall of names was revealed, carved one after another in an eerie, glowing script.
Chloe’s gaze shimmered with madness as she traced the letters with her fingertips.
From names she no longer remembered, to the ones she had failed to claim, and finally — to the most recent one, Heinz.
She reached into her pocket. A short awl, sharp enough to scratch solid stone, rested in her grip.
“If I want to take His Highness Helios, I need the Queen on my side first.”
Decision made, Chloe pressed the awl against the wall.
Scrape. Scrape. Grooves carved into the surface. Sweat beaded on her forehead.
Etching a name wasn’t easy. But she didn’t stop.
She had to claim Benz as hers.
For the entire afternoon, Chloe never left that small, dark room.
At that very moment, a piercing scream tore through the Crown Prince’s palace.
Benz was convulsing.
